“For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.” ~ John 13: 15
Holy Thursday marks the beginning of the Paschal Triduum, the three holy days in our liturgical calendar that commemorate the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus. The Triduum is celebrated as one continuous liturgy in which we wait together in joyful hope for the great feast of Easter.
Holy Thursday marks the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, where the sacrament of Holy Communion was first established and the priesthood was formally instituted. Following the breaking of the bread, Jesus then washed the feet of his apostles, commanding them to “love one another as I have loved you.”
Due to limited capacity under the Grey – Lockdown category, the Diocese has prepared a number of resources for families to celebrate Holy Week at Home. These at-home resources have been designed to encourage prayer and conversation in the home so families can celebrate the experience of the holy days. Visit Holy Week 2021
